2nd Generation

The McLaurin’s daughter June was a teacher with the Rockingham County Public Schools when she assumed management of the funeral home in 1971. June planned and implemented the construction of the current facility, dedicated in 1974 (Clinton Gravely & Associates Architect, and Joe M Walker Construction). 

She followed her parents’ tradition of community and professional services in addition to maintaining and improving superior service which had become the hallmark of McLaurin Funeral Home. 

June McLaurin Jeffers, like her mother, was selected Woman of the Year by the State and National professional organizations respectively. She is a Past President of the Funeral Directors and Morticians Association of North Carolina, Inc. and Past President of the National Funeral Directors and Morticians Association, Inc.



She was married to the late Leonidas M. Jeffers and mother to Anthony L. McLaurin and Ashton T.D. "Tom" McLaurin. Her oldest son, Albert H. Clark, III died in March,1984.

Mrs. June McLaurin Jeffers passed away on April 19, 2010.
