Zetta Louise Ophelia McCain Cooper was born on April 15, 1928 to Agnes and George Trent McCain in Reidsville, North Carolina.
She was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School class of 1946. In 1947 she moved to New York City and married the love of her life Joseph Lenwood Cooper. From this union she bore two sons Lenwood and Lawrence Cooper.
She served faithfully in Bethel Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. W.J. Hall. She served on various Committees including the Mother's Club. She was always willing to help wherever she was needed.
Zetta loved to travel. She traveled abroad including Europe, Holy Land, France, Germany and Caribbean just to name a few. There was not a place that she desired to go, that she did not get to go.
She was preceded in death by two sisters; Inez McCain Harris, Clarina McCain Anthony and one brother; George E. McCain.
She is survived by two sons; Lenwood Cooper(Vera) Las Vegas, NV, Lawrence Cooper, Brooklyn, NY, two brothers; James "Wink" Harris, Detroit, MI, John "Butch" Harris (Dorothy), Reidsville, NC, a devoted nephew; Emanuel "Sweet Pea" Harris (Pat), Fort Washington, MD, brother-in-law; Dr. Hoyt Cooper (Alma), Winston Salem, NC, brother-in-law; Garland Cooper, sister-in-law; Catherine Cherry, Windsor, NC, grandchildren, great grandchildren, Special God son; Gregory Robertson, Reidsville, NC, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
