Obituary

Ms. Winnie Mae Eaves was born on May 17, 1930, Cleveland County, Shelby, North Carolina to the late George Delaware and Rebecca Jackson Eaves. Following a period of illness, she departed this life on June 17, 2014 at Annie Penn Memorial Hospital in Reidsville, North Carolina, surrounded by her loving family.


Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, June 23, 2014 at Beulah Baptist Church, Madison, NC., with a visitation 1:30-2:00 P.M. prior to the service. Pastor Ervin Best will bring the eulogy and burial follow in Collins Cemetery, Madison, NC.

Winnie Mae attended the Cleveland County Schools and furthered her education in the New York City school system. She had a 26-year tenure at Cascade Laundry Incorporated, Brooklyn, New York, where she retired. Winnie Mae enjoyed cooking, music, entertaining, family gatherings, and serving the Lord. She accepted the plan of salvation; Jesus was the Lord of her life. In addition, she was a member of Beulah Baptist Church, Madison, North Carolina.

Winnie Mae was also preceded in death by her late husband, Ambros Wilson; her sons, James Edward Eaves and Antonio Wilson; brother, John William Eaves and sister, Dorothy Jane Eaves.

She leaves to cherish her memories: Daughters, Roxie Simmons (Charles), Reidsville, NC and Ethel Damita Marshall, Brooklyn, NY; sons, Ambrose Wilson, Jr. (Donita), Shelby, NC and Marcus Marshall (Erica), Reidsville, NC. Siblings: Catherine Eaves Summers, Reidsville, NC; Juanita Sue Eaves Dillard (Hezekiah), Morrisville, NC; George Ware Eaves, Bernice E. Connally, Reidsville, NC; Dr. Hazel Eaves Cannon (James), Reidsville, NC; Josie Pearl Eaves Johnson (James), Ruffin, NC; Roy Jay Eaves (Mabel), Eden, NC; Linda Eaves Boyce (Clyde), Brooklyn, NY; Brenda Eaves Cannon (Arthur), Reidsville, NC; Gail Brooklyn Eaves, LPCA, NCC, PhD. Candidate, Eden, NC. She has an uncle, William Stewart, Jr., Norfolk, VA; daughter-in-law, Iva Wilson, Shelby, NC; brother-in-law, L.C. Wilson, Shelby, NC and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Public viewing will be Sunday, June 22, 2014 from 4:00-7:00pm at McLaurin Funeral Home.
