I have fought a good fight. I have finished my course. I have kept the faith. Henceforth, there is laid up for me, a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge shall give me at that day; and not to me only, but unto all them also that love HIS appearing. II Timothy 4: 7-8 (KJV)

Mrs. Willie "Mae" Moore, a devoted servant of the LORD, was the oldest child and only daughter, born to the late John Henry and Virgie Mae Neal on January 20, 1940 in Reidsville, North Carolina.  On Wednesday, August 24, 2022, as the afternoon approached, Willie Mae was peacefully resting in her bed, lovingly surrounded and supported by her five adult children and several grands.  She heard and answered the gentle call of her savior and gracefully transitioned home to be with the LORD.

Mae was the epitome of class and elegance, as her grace and beauty was equal to her love of decorating and cooking.  Her homemade pound cakes were legendary, that easily became a "Stand in Line" event to acquire one.  She was definitely a hard working and dedicated young woman, who on June 9,1956, entered into a steadfast union to a handsome young man, Willie Donnel Moore, aka "BRO", who took pride in their new life's journey.  Being the glue that held the family together, she would often give a swift stare at her husband, when comments directed at any of her children did not meet her approval.  This union stood the test of time for 56 years.

In 1971, she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and became a member of the Benaja Holiness Pentecostal Church in Reidsville, NC, now known as Benaja Mt. Zion Holiness Church of God.  Her unwavering commitment and rock solid dedication to her church, became the cornerstone and a living testament to how she actually conducted her devotional obedience.

Willie Mae attended the Booker T. Washington High School, after which, she started working in the local manufacturing industry, where she dedicated 30+ years of service before accepting a new challenge.  In 1990, this bold and ground breaking venture, lead her to becoming the founder and sole proprietor of a full service printing company introduced as Moore's Enterprise.  Because of her humanism professionalism, Mrs. Moore was the recipient of the Reidsville Human Relations Commission award and the 2011 recipient of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Unity award from the Reidsville Branch NAACP.

"Sister Moore", as she was called by her fellow church members, held many positions within the church body.  For over 40 years, she was the church's secretary while also providing all of the printing needs of the various church organizations.  In addition, she held the Adult Sunday School and Wednesday night bible study perfect attendance for over 20 years.  She was a member of the Pastor's Aid Committee, overseer of the Usher Board, and was the pianist for the Male Chorus, the Sunshine Band and the Senior Choir for many years.  She was also the pianist for the Moore Singers which consisted of the immediate family members.

She was a matriarch not only to her biological family whom she loved and cherished, but also to her church family, and to the Reidsville community.  Her love for her family and others was evident by her enthusiasm for life, genuine concern, and expression of devotion.

In addition to her parents, Willie Mae was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Donnel Moore; granddaughter, Shaunte Denise Lee; one nephew, John Henry Neal, ll (John John) and one niece, JeNeen Neal (NeNe).

As her presence was felt, so will it be greatly missed and cherished by her loving caretaker and daughter, Deborah Moore of Greensboro; NC and two other daughters, Gwendolyn McMillan (Andrew) of Rock Hill, SC, Sandra Harrison (Rev. Joseph, Jr.) of Greensboro, NC; two sons, Ray Moore and Ronnie Moore  both of Reidsville, NC, one brother, John Neal, Jr. (Carola) of Daytona Beach, FL; 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandson, one God-daughter, Dilane Pinnix of Reidsville, NC; one God-son, Justin Pass of Atlanta, GA; two very special cousins; five very special/close friends; a host of nieces, nephews, other  relatives and dear friends.

Repast gathering will be held at the home of Sandra Harrison,

4100 U.S. Highway 29, Lot 170, Greensboro, NC  27405.
