Mrs. Virginia Mattie Wallington Gravely was born July 2, 1922 in Browns Summit, N.C. to the late Ella Mae Wallington. She entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, March 28, 2012.
Funeral services will be 12:00 noon on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at First Baptist Church on Hubbard St., Reidsville, N.C., with a visitation 11:30-12:00 noon prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Greenview Cemetery.
Virginia received her education from Poplar Grove Elementary and Browns Summit High Schools. She was employed as a secretary in the Guilford County Public School System. She joined First Baptist Church in 1971, where she was a faithful member until her health declined.
Virginia was preceded in death by: her husband; William H. Gravely Jr., daughter; Shirlean Cobb Estep, sons; Raymond Thomas Cobb and William H. Gravely III, one step-daughter; Tymesia Gravely Johnson.
She leaves to cherish her memories: one son; Bobby J. Cobb of the home, step-son; Clinton E. Gravely (Etta), step-daughters; Dr. Barbara J. Gravely and Jacquelyn Gravely Waters, all of Greensboro, NC, grandchildren; Carla Estep, Baltimore MD, Cecil Estep Jr. (Tasha), Upper Marlboro, MD, Michael Gloss (Alicia), Clarksville, TN, James Gloss (Liz), Spokane, WA, Sharmeen Dalton (US Army), Angela Gravely Harris (Kelvin), Gastonia NC, Thyrsa Gravely, Atlanta GA, Latasha Gravely Perkins, Greensboro, NC, Keith Cummings, Reidsville, NC, Tymesia Jones Smaw (Eric), Grand Prairie, TX, Kamal Waters, Toro Waters, Nyia Gravely and Sikia Gravely, all of Greensboro, NC, Roshawn Johnson (Angela), Lawrenceville, GA and Tykesia Johnson, Charlotte, NC, seventeen great grandchildren, son-in-law; Cecil Estep Sr., Baltimore, MD, other relatives and a plethora of friends.
