REIDSVILLE - Mrs. Virginia Ann Watlington Dickerson, age 64, passed away Friday, August 29, 2025 at Wesley Long Hospital in Greensboro, NC.

A public viewing will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2025 from 12 until 7 p.m. at McLaurin-Harris Memorial Chapel, 721 East Morehead Street, Reidsville, NC.

Virginia was born in Rockingham County, NC on February 12, 1961 to the late Major Kimber and Gloria Ann Watlington Peele.

She was educated in the local public schools and graduated from Reidsville Senior High School class of 1979.

For many years she worked as a housekeeper in the hotel and hospitality industry.

On May 13, 2006 she joined in holy matrimony with her soulmate Kenneth Dickerson, Sr.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Latonya McDowell.

Survivors include husband, Kenny Dickerson, Sr.; son, Cory Peele (Tori); grandchildren, Cory "CJ" Peele, Jr., TaCora Peele, Corinthian Peele, Jala Blackwell and Rudy Muirhead; great-grandchildren, Georgia Peele and True Peele; brothers, Wendell Watlington and Robert Watlington; uncles, John Fitzgerald Watlington and Charles Watlington (Sherrie); sisters-in-law, Cheryl McCurdy, Shelia Dickerson, Wanda Withers and Princess Dickerson; brother-in-law, James Dickerson; special cousin, Jamie McCollum; special niece, Kansai Graham; a host of relatives and friends.
