Mrs. Veola Cobb Price passed away on Sunday, November 11, 2012 at Moses Cone Hospital, Greensboro, NC.

Funeral services will be 12:00 Noon Thursday, November 15, 2012 at First Baptist Church, Hubbard St. Reidsville, NC, with Rev. William Hairston, pastor of Shiloh Baptist Church, serving as eulogist. There will be a visitation 11:30-12:00 Noon prior to the service. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Primitive Progressive Baptist Church, Ruffin, NC.

Veola Cobb Price was born October 25, 1930 in Yanceyville, North Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Hildred and Lucy Garrett Cobb. Veola attended the local public schools of Reidsville, North Carolina.

In 1951 she was united in holy matrimony to the late James A. Price who preceded her in death in 2008. They enjoyed 57 years of loving marriage.

Veola was a loyal member of Shiloh Baptist Church where she served as a deaconess. She had a great love for her pastor and church family. She also had a strong faith in God and a deep commitment to helping others in need.

Veola enjoyed gardening, sewing, and food preparation. She loved to cook delicious meals for family and friends. You were always a welcome guest at her table.

Veola was employed for a number of years as a seamstress with the Chase Bag Corporation. She was later employed with the local school system in food services. She left that position to help care for her ailing mother.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory, son; Ronnie Cobb (Joanne), four sisters; Cleo Redd, Mary Keesee (Adolphus), Katherine Cogdell (Joseph) and Bessie Cobb, brothers; Richard Cobb, and Larry Slade, all of Reidsville, North Carolina, three grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
