REIDSVILLE - Mr. Timothy Johnson, Sr., age 88, passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at Maple Grove Health and Rehabilitation Center in Greensboro, NC.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 16, 2025 at 2:30 p.m. from the McLaurin-Harris Memorial Chapel, 721 East Morehead Street, Reidsville, NC. The family visitation will take place at 2:15 p.m. Bishop Mary  E. Jackson, eulogist.

Interment will follow in Greenview Cemetery, Reidsville, NC.

Timothy Johnson Sr, was born on August 7, 1937, to James and Beulah Reid Johnson in Reidsville NC.  He attended Booker T. Washington High School and was a proud member of the class of 1956.

He attended Jerusalem United Holy Church under the leadership of Bishop A.W. Lawson during his formative years.  He met and married Ruthie Cozetta Johnson and to this union two children were born,

Timothy Johnson Jr. and Cheryl Annette Johnson.

Tim, as he simply liked to be referred to, was employed as a custodian at Lawsonville Elementary School and Annie Penn Memorial Hospital for more than 20 years.  He was always willing to lend a helping hand and greet visitors as they entered the hospital.

Tim took pleasure in enjoying a simple life.  He was a sports enthusiast and took great pleasure in cheering on his favorite football team the Raiders and college basketball team NC State.  He also enjoyed going to local football games, keeping up with the Reidsville Rams, attending family reunions and spending time during the holidays with his children.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Willie Morris and his twin Paul Johnson along with his grandson Brandalin LaMar Cunningham.  He leaves to cherish his memory, in addition to his children; daughter-in-law, Sarah; uncle, John Price (Gail) of Reidsville NC; special granddaughter, Tamika Cunningham; grandson, Cardy Bryce Johnson; a host of sweet nieces and nephews, cousins and special family friend Roynell Cunningham.
