"Resia" as she was affectionately called was born on December 1, 1951 to William Jerome Miller and Helen Eugenia Smith Miller.
She was educated in the local public schools attending Roosevelt Elementary, Wentworth High ad Reidsville Senior High, graduating in 1972.
In the early 1970s, she became a Jehovah's Witness. Sisters Geneva Gannon, Gladys Stacey Keesee, Martha Stacey, Naomi Galloway Susan Gwyn as well as brother James Gwyn were big influences in that decision. and She participated diligently in the preaching work until her health declined.
She was employed by Creighton Shirt-makers and Quality Life using her sewing abilities. She also worked with the disabled.
Her gift to sew was influenced by her Home Economics teacher, Barbara Wilkerson at Wentworth High School. Mrs. Wilkerson was acquainted with the singer Dolly Parton and offered my sister a chance to sew for her professionally. At Roosevelt Elementary School her singing stood out.
He hobbies included crafts, flower arranging and cooking. She baked excellent pound, cheese and German Chocolate cakes. She could also prepare a mean egg omelet.
Resia was a very giving person. She would put others before herself and was a very kind, patient and understanding person. The last 25 years of her life, her health declined terribly and she suffered from several illnesses.
