Miss Thelma A. Dillard passed away at Avante at Reidsville on Wednesday, September 18, 2013.

Funeral services will be 1:30 Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at Little Bethlehem Christian Church with a visitation 1:00-1:30 prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Eden Garden Cemetery.

Thelma Ann Dillard, the youngest child of Jim and Mary Bell Finch Dillard, was born on June 6, 1922 in Rockingham County, North Carolina.

Thelma attended the local public schools and graduated from Douglas High School, Eden, NC.

"Sister" as she was lovingly called by friends was quiet in manner, however when she was happy she would sing the old church hymns.

Thelma was ill most of her adult life. As illness began to take a toll, she was admitted to Avante of Reidsville Nursing Center, where she passed away at the age of ninety one.

Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, two sisters; Helen M. Broadnax and Carleen Rivers Robertson, one brother; James Nelson Dillard, three nephews; Daniel, Walter"Bruce" and Terriel, who loved her dearly.

She leaves in lovingly memory: nieces and nephews; Frank Trudel(Ruby), Gainsville, VA., Gene E.(Bettye), Upper Marboro, Md., Carol Yvonne Jamison, Mt. Ranier, Md., Robert Harold (Elizabeth), Eden, NC, Sandra, Eden, NC Shirley, Stoneville, NC, and James "Jay" Dillard, many great nieces and nephews, special cousins Margaret, Janet and Inez, other relatives and friends.
