Obituary

Ms. Stephanie Nicole Totten transitioned from her earthly home on Monday morning, January 31, 2022 at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, North Carolina.  Graveside services will be conducted from the Gwynn's Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery in Pelham, NC on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 12:00 p.m.  Public viewing will be held on Friday, February 4, 2022 from 2:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the McLaurin Memorial Chapel, 721 E. Morehead Street, Reidsville, NC.

Stephanie Nicole Totten was born on March 9, 1977 to Ernest Totten and the late Virginia Mae Stephens in Reidsville, North Carolina.

She joined Gwynn's Chapel Baptist Church at an early age and served faithfully in the Women's Ministry, the Fellowship Choir and Health Services until her health declined.  She so enjoyed the fellowship at Gwynn's Chapel and attended regularly.

A native and life-long resident of Rockingham County, she attended the public schools and was a graduate of Rockingham County High School, Class of 1995.  She was employed most recently at Medibeg USA in Stoneville, NC as a Machine Operator.  Previously, she was employed in a managerial position at Dominoe's of Eden, NC, until she became ill.

Stephanie had a kind, friendly and sweet, sweet spirit.  Even when she felt bad, she would always say "I'm okay."  She loved spending time with her family and she loved shopping at Wal-mart and Roses.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by: her maternal grandmother, Beatrice Stephens; paternal grandfather, Gordon Totten; aunts, Linda Graves, Rebecca Logan, Pauline McGhee, Earlene Totten and Patricia Fitzgerald; and uncles, Percell Stephens, Edward Totten, Marvin Totten and Greg Totten.

Those left to cherish previous memories are:  father, Ernest "Butch" Totten of Reidsville, NC; sister, Tonya Totten of Ruffin, NC; brother, David Stephens (Mary Soyars) of Danville, VA; grandmother, Hulene Totten of Reidsville, NC; aunts, Shirley McGhee of Eden, NC, Louvenia King of Ruffin, NC, Geraldine Holmes of Danville, VA, Elder Catherine Wilson of Reidsville, NC and Linda Johnson (Robert) of Reidsville, NC; uncles, Walter Stephens (Bernice) of Pelham, NC, James Stephens (Jackie) of Reidsville, NC, Douglas Stephens of Brooklyn, NY, Robert Stephens (Diane) of N. Chesterfield, VA, John Wayne Stephens (Esther) of Reidsville, NC,  Rev. William Totten (Nettie) of Reidsville, NC, Johnny Totten (Wanda) of Reidsville, NC, Tony Totten of Reidsville, NC and George Totten of Sacramento, CA; niece, Tyra Totten, of Ruffin, NC; nephew, Koby Totten, of Ruffin, NC; special cousin, Reba Stephens of Reidsville, NC; special friend, Lalita Broadnax of Durham, NC; great-aunts; great-uncles; cousins; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Ashton and Yolanda McLaurin and the staff of the McLaurin Funeral Home are serving the family. C ovid-19 precautions will be followed with social distancing, masks and sanitizing required.
