DURHAM - Mr. Stedman Lewis McLaughlin, age 36, formerly of Reidsville, NC passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2025.

Memorial services will be held Friday, October 24, 2025 at 2 p.m. from the McLaurin-Harris Memorial Chapel, 721 East Morehead Street, Reidsville, NC. Reverend Tommy Williamson, eulogist.

Stedman L. McLaughlin, age 36, son of Veronica J. and Stafford M. McLaughlin was born on December 10, 1988. After a tragic accident, he depaarted this life on Wednesday evening, October 8, 2025 in Durham, NC.

He was a lifelong native of Reidsville and attended the public schools. At an early age, through his father, he developed a love and appreciation of the outdoors which remained with him throughout his life. He loved hunting and fishing.

"Steddy Lou" as he was known by family was very caring, kind and compassionate to all he knew. He was well known in the community and had an impact on anyone he met. He loved his family and friends unconditionally.

He was preceded in death by grandfathers, George Russell, Jr. and Timothy McLaughlin; uncles, Stanley McLaughlin, Darrell Russell, Howard Russell; aunt, Sharon D. McLaughlin; cousins, Michael McLaughlin and Shyheim Thornton.

Left to cherish his memory and celebrate his life: father, Stafford McLaughlin; mother, Veronica J. McLaughlin; sister, Ebony McLaughlin; brother, Justus McLaughlin (Audrey); niece, London Dickerson; grandmothers, Clarie Abbott-McLaughlin and Mary A. Russell; aunts, Vernell Simpson (Benjamin), Phyllis McLaughlin, Tamara McLaughlin, Melinda McLaughlin, Mary Ann Russell, Linda Jones (Willie), Sandra D. Russell and Susan Russell; uncles, Tim McLaughlin, Johnny McLaughlin (Barbara), George E. Russell, Charles Russell and Jeffrey Russell; a host of loving cousins, other relatives and friends.
