Obituary

Mr. Stanley Glenn Williamson passed on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Penn Nursing Center in Reidsville, North Carolina.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at Benaja Mt. Zion Holiness Church Inc., Reidsville, NC, with a family visitation 1:30-2:00 p.m. prior to the service.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Public viewing will be on Wednesday from 2:00-7:00 p.m. at McLaurin Funeral Home.

Stanley was born to the late George Elwood Williamson and Mary Maynard Williamson in Rockingham County on October 2, 1951. He attended Booker T. Washington High School, Reidsville, NC. He was a longtime employee of the Container Cooperation, Greensboro, NC until he retired on disability. Stanley was an avid race car driver. He loved his "65 Chevelle" and his "75 Cutlass" that he raced with care.

Stanley lived with his parents and after the death of his father, he became the primary caregiver for his mother along with the other brothers. He will be missed by all of his family and friends.

Stanley was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Rodney Williamson.

He leaves to cherish his memories:  his mother, Mary M. Williamson of the home; four brothers, Elwood Williamson (Wanda), Errol Williamson (Denise), Walter Williamson (Sabrina) and Timothy Williamson (Denise); two uncles, Lynwood D. Maynard (Barbara) and Glidewell Brown; one aunt, Ruth Blackwell; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Ashton and Yolanda McLaurin and the staff of the McLaurin Funeral Home are serving the family. Covid-19 precautions will be followed with social distancing, masks and sanitizing required.
