Shirley Regina "Lucy" Ziglar, was born in Reidsville, NC on March 30, 1956. She was the second child of Herbert and Viola "Reese" Finch Ziglar.

She attended public School in Reidsville and along with her brother, Ricky, was one of the first children to integrate South End school. She graduated from Reidsville Senior High School and drove bus 139 while attending school. She pursued further education at Winston Salem State University, majoring in Early Childhood.

In her earlier years she worked at Lawsonville Avenue School. Following years of laboring, she retired from the Rockingham County Sheriff's Department as a sergeant.

She loved her work family at the jail, relaxing on her front porch, decorating, and shopping at her favorite store, Family Dollar.

"Lucy," as family and close friends affectionately referred to her, was truly a pillar of strength in her family. Her soft voice and quiet demeanor did not diminish her resolve and determination to do what she wanted to do her way. She indeed leaves a legacy of tenacity, love, and kind deeds for us all to emulate. We are thankful for her life and beautiful memories.

Spiritually, she was a faithful member of Jerusalem United Holy Church. Lucy was a member of the church choir throughout her childhood until an adult. She was a member of the Fellowship choir, Mixed choir, and Senior choir. She also joined the Senior Missionary circle. In the community, she was a member of the Racetrack Flower Club.

In addition to her parents, brother Herbert "Ricky" Ziglar Jr., Alphony "Barry" Settle and Anthony "Butch" Settle proceeded her in death.

She leaves to rejoice in her memory her beloved devoted daughter; Kenyana Turner (Terry Turner), loving grandson TyReese Turner, devoted sisters; Peachie Cheeks and Tammy Ziglar; faithful brother; Clarence "Mug" Ziglar (Emily Ziglar), uncle; Joe Courts, nieces; Kameisha Dejournette, nephews; Curtis Cheeks III (Ashley), Chandler Cheeks, TrayVion Dejournette, Quincy Pinnix (Shenna), Gerald Settle (Candida), and Bryan Settle, great-niece; Amayah Graves; great-nephew, Dominic Cheeks; Special sisters/friends; Evette Neal, Renette Neal, Jackye Jones Hammock, Evon Pickard Blackstock, Velma Davis, Darlene Stokes, Ann Dodd, Sharon "Pokey" Rucker, Laura Moore, Theresa Womack, Gloria "Cookie" Johnson, Rosie Pickard and Cathy Luke, godchildren; Dezmon Settle, Marsha Maria Rucker; special caregivers; Tracy Galloway and Daniel Hockaday; a host of great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins, and friends.
