REIDSVILLE - Mrs. Shenniel Marie Neal Poteat, age 65, passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at her residence.

Public viewing will begin Thursday, August 15, 2024 from 5 until 8 p.m. at McLaurin-Harris Funeral Home, 721 East Morehead Street, Reidsville, NC.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 16, 2024 at 2 p.m. at McLaurin-Harris Memorial Chapel, 721 East Morehead Street, Reidsville, NC. The family visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m., Dr. George Pickard will officiating.

Shenniel was born on August 23, 1958 in Rockingham County to George Neal and Rosetta Smith Blackwell.

She was educated in the local public schools.

For 20 years she worked at Fieldcrest.

In her spare time, she loved dancing, cooking and playing cards "spades".

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jasper Williamson and her sister, Joyce Ann Neal.

Survivors include husband, Christopher Leon Poteat, Sr.; son, Jeffery Williamson; daughter, Victoria Williamson; stepson, Christopher Leon Poteat Jr. (Crystal); stepdaughters, Jessica Marie Poteat and Bonita Wiggins (Mike); brothers, Clayton Blackwell (Mona), Clifton Blackwell (Charlotte), Wayne Balckwell (Pamela Morehead) and Joe Graves; sisters, Melissa Jones (Joe), Teresa Blackwell and Charlene Covington (Kenneth); grandchildren, Kendra, Diamond, David, Jasper, Oscar, Khali, Marquis, Ebony, Elijah and Tatiana; great-grandchildren, Brylee Bryant and Amari Blackwell; sisters-in-law, Effie Poteat, Beulah Walker and Dora Poteat; brothers-in-law, Mike Poteat (Patricia), David Poteat (Jane), Ronald Poteat (Mary) and William Poteat.
