Obituary

On Friday, July 24, 2020. Mrs. Savannah Esther Morgan transitioned to eternal rest. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at Eden Gardens Cemetery, Eden, NC.

Savannah was born on January 22, 1929. She retired as Food Service Director from Rockingham County Opportunity Center, Wentworth, NC. Savannah, with her lively personality, dedicated her life caring for others, especially the unconditional love she showed and had for her family. Loving memories of her will always shine in the hearts of many and she will never be forgotten.

She actively attended the Reidsville Senior Citizens Center and as a member of Jerusalem United Holy Church, she formerly served on the Senior Choir, Senior Missionary Ministry, Culinary Ministry and she remained active in the Wednesday Bible Study, Deaconess Board and was a joy to see in the Senior Dance Ministry.

Savannah was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Morgan; daughter, Hunter Marie Neal; foster sons, Larry Scales and Enell Scales; parents, George and Evelyn Broadnax; sisters, Ernestine Scales, Gladys Washington and Mable Weeks; and brothers, Ennell Broadnax and Raymond Broadnax.

Left to cherish precious memories are: foster daughter, Desiree Scales; foster son, Steven Winchester; step-daughter, Maxine Thomas; nieces, Vickie Williamson, Mable Burrell and Deborah Scales; nephews, Howard Broadnax, Robert Scales (Mary) and Anthony Scales (Linda); great nephew/godson Carnell Scales (Maxine); goddaughter, Pamela Redd (Stanley), godson Charles "Rock" Settle, Jr.; a devoted extended family, Sally Bason, Chet Bason and Clark Bason and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
