Born on October 4, 1931 to Nancy Haith Robinson and William Robinson in Greensboro, North Carolina, Mrs. Sarah Robinson Bethel peacefully transitioned into life everlasting on Thursday evening, August 8, 2019 at Annie Penn Memorial Hospital.  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at Jerusalem United Holy Church at 1:00 p.m. with family visitation one half hour prior to the service.  Public viewing will be on Tuesday from 1:30 - 7:00 p.m.

In her early 20's, Sarah moved to Reidsville, North Carolina and later became employed at the Reidsville New Laundry and then at Hamilton Dry Cleaners, working more than 35 years before retiring.  She had a "green thumb" and enjoyed raising flowers and plants, both indoors and outdoors.  Though she was an awesome cook and could cook almost anything, she is most famous for her meatloaf recipe.  Sarah will be remembered as a soft-spoken, hard-working, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.

A faithful member of Jerusalem United Holy Church for more than 56 years, Sarah was active with the Pastor's Aid and the Ushers Ministry, until her health failed.  In the community, she was very active with the senior citizens of Meadowgreens.

She was preceded in death by:  her parents; sons – Phillip and James Bethel, Jr.; brothers – John Robinson, Sr., Clarence Robinson, Sr., Earl Robinson and James Robinson; sisters - Lillian Robinson and Fannie Harrison.

She leaves to cherish precious memories:  a devoted daughter – Annie Bethel Dodd, of the home; sons – Curtis Bethel (Sandra), and Victor Bethel (Paula), all of Reidsville, NC; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister – Freddie Mae McLaughlin, of Greensboro, NC; sisters-in-law – Rose Robinson and Mary Robinson, both of Greensboro, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, others relatives and friends.
