REIDSVILLE, NC - The serene passing of Mr. Roy Lee Neal, Sr., age 70, on June 22, 2026, marks the close of a cherished life. Embraced by the warmth of his home, he departed peacefully, leaving behind memories that will linger tenderly in the hearts of all who knew him.

A viewing will begin on Monday, June 29, 2026 from 12 until 7 p.m. at McLaurin-Harris Funeral Home, 721 East Morehead Street, Reidsville, NC.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 30, 2026 from the St. Mariah United Holy Church, 127 McCoy Road, Reidsville, NC. Visitation with the family will begin at 10:30 a.m., followed by the service at 11 a.m. Reverend Ray Stokes will serve as eulogist.

The committal and interment followed by military honors preformed by the United States Army Honor Guard will follow in Greenveiw Cemetery, Reidsville, NC.

All other times, the family will receive friends at the home - 1623 Withersea Lane, Reidsville, NC.

Roy Lee Neal, Sr., was born on November 16, 1955 to the late James W. Neal and Itaskia L. Neal. He departed this world peacefully on June 22, 2026. He attended and graduated from Ruffin High School and joined the United States Army. After 4 years of military service and deployment to Germany, he returned home to Reidsville, North Carolina with an Honorable Discharge..

He furthered his education as a carpenter along with working at Zarn Plastics. After a lengthy career at Zarn Plastics, he continued to do carpentry work for family and friends along with working at Mayflower Seafood. After a few years at Mayflower, he took his talents to work for JLA Fabricates for multiple years, then concluded his working career by working for the City of Reidsville.

Roy was an avid outdoorsman and a carpenter who could build anything. He enjoyed family and friends along with fishing and hunting. He loved sports and was a dedicated Pittsburg Steelers fan. Throughout the years he played multiple sports including basketball, bowling, shooting pool and guns while talking smack along the way. He truly loved his family and friends while helping everyone along the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James W. Neal and Itaskia Neal; his brothers, George Neal and Thomas Neal; his son, Ronnie Neal; his nephew Marcus Neal and niece, Alana Lawson.

Roy is survived by former wife and mother to his children, Delois Neal; sons, Roy (Nakia) Neal, Jr., and Donnie (Raquel) Neal; daughter, Dana Neal; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, James R. Neal; sisters, Iwilda Lee, Alice Speaks and Wilma Neal; and many other cherished family members and friends.
