Obituary

Mrs. Rosie Pass Lee passed on Monday, May 16, 2022 at Duke Hospice in Durham, North Carolina.  Funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 22, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at McLaurin Memorial Chapel, 721 E. Morehead Street, Reidsville, NC, with family visitation one half hour prior to the service.  Public viewing is on Saturday, May 21, 2022 from 12:30 until 7:00 p.m. and burial will be conducted from the Greenview Cemetery, Montgomery Street, Reidsville, NC.

Mrs. Rosie Pass Lee was born on September 9, 1936 in Reidsville, North Carolina to the late George W. Pass and Mary Pass Washington and was educated in the Jersey City, New Jersey public school system.

Rosie was a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Jersey City and served until her health declined.  She was employed as a seamstress for more than 20 years.

In addition to sewing, she loved traveling and taking beautiful vacations with family and friends.  In her younger years, she enjoyed ice skating and was recognized for being highly skilled in figure skating.

In addition to her parents, Rosie was preceded in death by:  her husband, Ralph Bruce Lee; two sons, Gary Lamont Lee and Ralph "Spodie" Lee, Jr.; sisters, Mary Oglesby, Constance P. Scales, Barbara Morehead and Clara Lewis; brothers, George Thomas Pass; grandson, Damion Minatee; and sister-in-law, Erva Pass.

Surviving loved ones include:  sisters, Denise Pass Simpson (Timothy) and Roberta Pass, all of Reidsville, NC; brothers, Minister Wilford Pass (Brenda), Willie L. Pass (Geraldine), all of Reidsville, NC, Earl Ray Pass of Greensboro, NC and Kenneth Pass (Janice) of Madison, NC; grandchildren, Nyeem Younger, Denise Minatee, Rosie Smith and Gary L. Lee, Jr. all of Jersey City, New Jersey; and a host of other relatives and special friends.

Special thanks to step-daughter, Sharon Peaks and nephew, Taurean Peaks and Shawna Peaks for the loving care that was rendered to Rosie.
