The memories are abundant in the life, love and legacy of Ronnie Donnell Harden Sr. They are richly shared by those who knew him as a devoted son, husband, father, brother and loving friend.
Funeral services will be 12:00 Noon Friday, January 16, 2015 at Zion Baptist Church with a visitation 11:30-12:00 prior to the service. Burial will be in the Benaja Mt. Zion Holiness Church of God Inc. Cemetery.
Ronnie was born April 10, 1956 in Rockingham County, North Carolina to Earlene Harden who always loved and held dear to her son. He was reared in the home of his grandparents Edward and Octavia Harden. Love of family was evident by his enthusiasm for life, genuine concerns and expressions of devotion.
Ronnie was united in Holy Matrimony to the former Donna Lane. They joined the Army on the Joint Domicile Plan. Specialist Ronnie Harden served in Kansas and Germany as a Motor Vehicle Operator. Having a foundation of God's teachings early in life, he was an active member of Benaja Mt. Zion Church Of God Inc. During his married life, he joined Zion Baptist Church where he became a Deacon. Ronnie was also a member of Westside Men's Missionary Ministry, a former Trustee, Pastors Baptism Assistant and a member of the Mass Spiritual Choir.
Ronnie leaves to celebrate his love and memories his adoring wife; Donna , two sons; Airman First Class Ronnie II, Lackland AFB, Texas, William of the home. Mother; Earlene H. Blackwell, Reidsville, NC, Three sisters; Sharon Shipp ( Lazario) Greensboro NC, Carol Simmons Reidsville NC, and Allison Graves, Columbus , Georgia. Three brothers and three sisters with whom he was raised; Wesley Harden (Bessie), of Reidsville, NC, Juanita Harrison (Sam), Durham, NC. Wondia Pinnix (Thurman) of Reidsville NC. Jacqueline Shackleford (Tony) of Columbia SC. Mother & Father –In-Law; Willie and Verdell Lane of Reidsville, NC. Four Sisters and Brother-In-Laws. Lincoln Broadnax which was a very special and close friend, a host of relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death parents Edward and Octavia Harden, Raymond and Leon Harden, two brother-in-laws Anthony Simmons and Antonia Graves.
On January 11, 2015 God in his infinite wisdom chose to release Ronnie from this life to eternal life.
Public viewing will be 12:00 p.m.- 7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 15, 2015 at McLaurin Funeral Home.
The family will have a "Gift of Life Celebration" and receive friends on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 and Thursday, January 15, 2015 from 6:00 p.m.- 7:00 p.m. each day at New Commandment Ministry, 150 Fieldcrest Road, Eden, N.C.( Draper section).
