GIBSONVILLE - Mr. Robert Henry Whitsett, age 67, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2025 at his residence.

Public viewing and gathering will be held Friday, March 28, 2025 from 12 until 7 p.m. at McLaurin-Harris Funeral Home, 721 East Morehead Street, Reidsville, NC.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 12:30 p.m. from the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 933 W. Old Glencoe Road, Burlington, NC.

The family will receive friends at the home of his sister-in-law, Mary Pinnix, 503 Browns Chapel Road, Gibsonville, NC.

Shorty as he was affectionately called was born in Reidsville, NC on March 8, 1958 to the late Tom Whitsett and Elizabeth Cummings Whitsett.

He was educated in the Rockingham County Public Schools.

For many years, he worked at Gold Toe Factory in Burlington, NC.

In his leisure time, he loved to play golf, fishing and watching sports.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Tommy Lee Whitsett, Samuel Whitsett and George Whitsett.

Survivors include wife, Dora Whitsett of the home; sister, Mary Whitsett Poteat (Ronald) of Reidsville, NC; special nephew, Michael B. Whitsett "Pete" of Mebane, NC; brothers-in-law, Charlie Young (Adriene) and Michael Young of Greensboro, NC; sisters-in-law, Corliss Young of Greensboro, NC, Mary Pinnix (Randy) of Gibsonville, NC and Barbara White (James) of Reidsville, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
