Mr. Robert Henry Slade, age 79, departed this earthly life on Thursday, December 14, 2023 at Pine Forest Assisted Living in Reidsville, NC.

Public viewing will begin Tuesday, December 26, 2023 from 12 until 8 p.m. at McLaurin-Harris Funeral Home, 721 East Morehead Street, Reidsville, NC.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at 1 p.m. at McLaurin-Harris Funeral Home Chapel, 721 East Morehead Street, Reidsville, NC. The family visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m.

Robert was born in April 22, 1944 in Reidsville, NC to the late George W. Slade and Fannie R. Slade.

Robert attended Roosevelt and Booker T. Washington High School in Reidsville. For many years he farmed and was also employed at Monarch Hosiery. He married the love of his life, the late Dorothy Smith Slade.

Robert enjoyed fishing and watching wrestling. He loved old cars and spending time with family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, seven brothers and three sisters.

Robert is survived by his brother, Charles Slade (Terry) of Browns Summit, two sisters, Georgia Courts of Greensboro and Jeanette Slade of Reidsville; a host of nieces and nephews.

Robert was a loving and caring person and always had a smile on his face. He was dependable and will be greatly missed.
