Mr. Robert Junior McCollum passed on Friday, November 29, 2019 at the Hospice Home of Rockingham County.

A Memorial service will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 7, 2019 at McLaurin Memorial Chapel with a visitation 1:30-2:00 P.M. prior to the service.    The family is gathering at the home of his daughter, Darlene Slade in Elon, NC.

Mr. Robert Junior McCollum was born on February 28, 1935 to Delsi Lizzie Rone and Henry McCollum in Rockingham County.  He went home to be with the Lord on November 29, 2019.

Robert was educated in the Rockingham County public school system and was a farmer by trade.  However, he especially loved fishing and hanging around the house watching wrestling and cowboy shows/movies on TV.

In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by his sisters – Queen Graves and Mozelle Rone; brothers – Willis McCollum, Herman McCollum and John McCollum; and son – Aaron McCollum.

He leaves to cherish fond memories: one daughter – Darlene (Chris) Slade, of Elon, NC; Vanessa Walker, of Dallas, GA; and Annette Slade, of Burlington, NC; sons – Ritchie (Gwen) McCollum, of Opelika, AL, and Stanley McCollum, of Atlanta, GA; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends, relatives and friends.
