Obituary

Robert "Earl" Bolden was born on October 25, 1948 in Reidsville, North Carolina. Robert Earl was the oldest of nine children to the late Robert Spencer Bolden and Catherine Moore Bolden. Robert Earl was granted his angel wings on February 7, 2015. His final days were surrounded by family and friends by his side.

Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Benaja Mt. Zion Holiness Church Of God Inc., with a visitation 12:30-1:00 P.M. prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Benaja Church Cemetery.

Robert Earl graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Reidsville and then went into the Military. Upon returning home he worked for P. Lorillard Tobacco for 32 years until his retirement in 2000. Robert Earl enjoyed attending car shows but most of all he enjoyed his lazy days sitting in his garage waving to passer byers and wiping down his 66 Chevelle. He was an active member of Benaja Holiness Church.

He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Catherine Bolden; his sister, Doris Ann.

Robert Earl Bolden is survived by his loving wife Carolyn Jewell Bolden, son "Scooby" Dujuan Earl Bolden (Sandra) of High Point NC, three stepsons and one step daughter: Larry Calhoun, Sr. of Greensboro, NC, Mathew Mark Calhoun Sr. (Chantel) of Suffolk, VA, Evette Calhoun-Clemons (Charlie) of Kernersville, NC and Timothy Calhoun (Ratesha) of Greensboro, NC. He is also survived by his sisters: Odessa Mae of Greensboro, Mary Jane, Reidsville NC and Brenda Kay of Reidsville NC. His brothers: "Eddie" James Edward (Mary) of Reidsville, NC, "Pop" Melvin Lee of Reidsville, NC, Clarence Bernard (Paulette) of Reidsville, NC and Larry Donnell (Joni) of San Antonio, TX. Robert Earl is also survived by a host of wonderful grandchildren, nieces and nephews and life-long friends.

Public viewing will be Friday at McLaurin Funeral Home from 12:00 noon-7:00 p.m.
