Obituary

REIDSVILLE, NC - Mr. Rayfield Charles Thaxton, age 65, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 22, 2026 at Beacon Place Hospice.

A celebration of life service will be held Thursday, May 28, 2026 at 2 p.m. from the McLaurin-Harris Memorial Chapel, 721 East Morehead Street, Reidsville, NC. Reverend Tommy Williamson will serve as eulogist.

All other times, the family will receive friends at the residence - 2157 Iron Works Road, Reidsville, NC.

"Charles" as he was affectionately called was born on August 1, 1960 in Rockingham County, NC to the late Janie Mae Thaxton Poole and Harvey Wilson.

He was educated in the local public schools and attended Bethany High School.

He dedicated most of his life to tobacco and agriculture farming.

In his spare time he loved hunting, fishing and cooking for his family and friends. He loved wrestling, football and watching westerns. Charles was a happy jovial loving family man who always gave everyone a nickname.

Although Charles didn't have a church affiliation, his faith in God was strong.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Charles "Bear" Thaxton; bonus father, George "Bro" Moore; bonus mother, Christine Moore and brother, JW Wilson,

Survivors include spouse, Tania Jordan; children, Taji, Tashera (Raynell), Tareva (David), Damien, Stephen, Brandon, JaMicheal, Tiffany (Nate) and Russell; siblings, Robin "Bird" Wilson (Larry), Wanda "Nookie" Poole, Judy "Judea" Poole, Tiki Floyd, Jackie Warriner, Linda Poole, Jenny Poole, Harvey Wilson, Harvey Slade, Danny "Willie" Poole and Willie "Henry" Wilson; grandchildren, DJ, Ajaela, Kai, Nauvie, Kade, Nastassjia, Jonathan, Taya, Shinky, Christian and Tyler "Chuck"; great-grandchildren, Leilani "Whiner", Marlei "Half Pint" and D'Mirr "Fatt Fatt"; special nieces, Maxine Carter and Brittne' Broadnax; best friend, Ronnie Courts; special friend, John Ashe; The Crew - Carlton "Bo", Theodore "Theo", Darryl "Fang Pus" Davis, Ellis Harris, Sam and Larry Settle; a host of relatives and friends.
