Ms. Peggy Lavern Mitchell passed away Friday morning at Jacobs Creek Nursing Home in Madison, North Carolina.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Browns Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation will be one half hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Public viewing will be Monday from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
McLaurin Funeral Home is serving the family.

Peggy was the second child born January 29, 1952 of the late Major O. Mitchell and Wylene Lamberth Mitchell. She lived in Rockingham County all her life and received her education in the Reidsville Public Schools.

Peggy was a people person and loved giving people flowers while they could smell them. She loved her family, with her Mother being her first love, they had a special bond. Peggy also loved music and attending church. Along with her sister Vernell, they were baptized together and became members of Brown's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in the 70's, under the leadership of Dr. H. G. McGhee.

In addition to her Mother, she leaves to cherish her memory sister; Vernell Pinnix (Jeffrey), brothers; Jayfus Mitchell (Pat), Clayton Mitchell (Vicky), nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends
