Obituary

Mrs. Pauline McClure Stuckey transitioned peacefully on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at Penn Nursing Center in Reidsville, North Carolina.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church with family visitation one half hour prior to the service and burial to be held at Greenview Cemetery, Montgomery Street, Reidsville, NC.  Public visitation will be held at McLaurin Memorial Chapel on Friday, November 11, 2022 from 2:00 until 7:00 p.m.

Mrs. Pauline McClure Carrington Stuckey was born on May 21, 1925 in Rockingham County, North Carolina to the late Julia Graham McClure and John C. McClure.  She was married to the late Leon Carrington and Emmanuel Stuckey.

Pauline attended school in the Rockingham County Public School System and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1945.   Soon after graduation, she moved to New York where she worked as a domestic aide for a number of years.  She returned to Reidsville, North Carolina in the late 70's.

From a young age, she was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, but also served as mother of the Mt. Herman Holiness Church under the leadership of Rev. Harvey Dingle.  She was also a member of the Sunset Flower Club.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by sisters, Annie Mae Neal, Verlie Powell, Dorethea Robinson and Minnie Bell McClure; brothers, Johnny McClure, Lonnie McClure and Eugene McClure; and son-in-law, David L. Settle.

Those left to cherish precious memories are:  daughter, Paulette Carrington Settle of Reidsville, NC; three grandchildren, L'Tanya Settle-Charles (Rhett) of New Orleans, LA, Nneka Settle (Hal) of Dallas, TX and Sseka Settle of Reidsville, NC; five great-grandchildren, Amari Sparks and Darius Sparks of Dallas, TX, Lyncoln Charles and Rhett Charles, Jr. of New Orleans, LA and Asha Wallace of Reidsville, NC; sister-in-law, Margaret McClure of Atlanta, GA; god-daughters, Gloria Jones, Pauline Stubblefield and Mary Lee Bolden, all of Reidsville, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear friends.

staff of the Penn Nursing Center for their loving care of our

mother and grandmother.
