Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, Patricia Mae Pass Strange, departed this life to be with the Lord on December 23, 2018. She was born in Newport News, Virginia to the late Robert D. Pass and Lily P. Pass.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 23, 2018 at Sunny Home Baptist Church in Eden, NC at 12:30 p.m. with family visitation beginning at 12 noon.
Patricia loved the Lord and became a member of Mount Herman Baptist Church at an early age. She later moved her membership to the Sunny Home Baptist Church where she served in the Senior Choir and the Missionary Circle. She sincerely loved serving the Lord and would do whatever needed to be done at the church.
She attended Lincoln Elementary School in Ruffin, NC and furthered her education at Booker T. Washington High School earning the title of MVP for the Women's Basketball Team and graduating in the the class of 1964. She then became employed at Fieldcrest-Cannon Mills working there for some 20+ years where she served as supervisor. Later, she became employed at Pittsylvania County Schools - Department of Transportation serving as a bus driver for Bus #208 for eight years.
Preceding her in death are both parents; her husband, Lawrence Edward Strange; her grandmother, Mary L. Pass, who raised her as her own; two sisters, JoAnne Williams and Katie Jo Pass; and three brothers, Robert D. Pass, Percy Pass, and Albert L. Pass.
Left to cherish precious memories are: three daughters – Cassandra Hampton (Eddie), of Pelham, NC, Celitia Abbott, of the home, and Caroline Scales, of Jacksonville, FL; one son - Harry Abbott, of the home; five grandchildren; one great grandchild; two brothers – Percy Lemons, of Reidsville, NC, and Lorenzo Stokes, of Eden, NC; one niece that she reared - Cynthia Robinson; two nephews that she reared - Jamie Stokes and Eddie Stokes; two sisters-in-law – Cora Pass, of Eden, NC, and Dr. Lucinda Snead, of Laurinburg, NC; one son-in-law – Theodore R. Strange, II (Barbara), of Lorton, VA; a special aunt – Cornelia Price, of Pelham, NC; one special daughter-in-law – Stephanie H. Abbott, of Cascade, VA; two god-daughters – Kimberly Shields and Lisa Price; extended family members and a plethora of other special and treasured friends.
