Obituary

Mr. Otis Lynn, Sr. transitioned from his earthly home on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at Annie Penn Hospital in Reidsville, North Carolina.  Graveside services will be conducted on Friday, June 11, 2021 at Garrett's Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery in Gibsonville, North Carolina at 2:00 p.m.  Public viewing will be held on Thursday, June 10, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Born in Newport News, Virginia, Mr. Lynn attended school in the Newport News Public School System, graduating in 1962.  He later moved to Reidsville, North Carolina and became employed at Cone Mills Company, until he retired after more than 30 years.

Mr. Lynn was a faithful member of Garrett's Grove United Methodist Church and served diligently in many ministries until his health declined.  He was a member of the Male Chorus, the Usher Board and the Culinary Committee.  He also sang with the Union Ridge Star Male Chorus for many years.

Hunting and fishing became a passion of his, as demonstrated by his membership in the Buck Hunting Club for seven years and the High Rock Hunting Club for more than 10 years.  He also thoroughly enjoyed harvesting his gardens every year, often giving away many of the fruits and vegetables he gleaned.  He was the epitome of a "good neighbor."

Those left to cherish precious memories are:  his daughter, Linda Fergus (Rena'), of Reidsville, NC; his son, Otis Lee Lynn, Jr., of Reidsville, NC;  one grandson, Zane Levi Lynn, of Reidsville, NC; his best friend, Roy Graves, of Reidsville, NC; cousins; other relatives and dear friends.

Ashton and Yolanda McLaurin and the staff of the McLaurin Funeral Home are serving the family. Covid-19 precautions will be followed with social distancing, masks and sanitizing required.
