BARSTOW, CA - Mr. Odell Graves, Jr., affectionately called "Boogie", age 34, passed away Friday, March 21, 2025.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 19, 2025 at 2 p.m. from the McLaurin-Harris Memorial Chapel, 721 East Morehead Street, Reidsville, NC. The family visitation will take place at 1:30 p.m. Minister Barbara Graves Lennon, eulogist.
The committal and interment will follow in Greenview Cemetery, Reidsville, NC.
Odell Graves Jr perfectly known as "Boogie"; was loved greatly by a host of family and friends.
Odell was born in Barstow, California on August 2, 1990. He graduated from Barstow High School. He worked as a sales associate for retail stores.
Odell was always loving and a protector of all his sisters. He will be deeply missed. He was truly amazing in his very short life span. He was a jack of all trades, there was nothing He couldn't do. If He set his mind to learning something, He didn't stop until He learned it and mastered it. He was always so helpful, kind, and respectful. He was extremely humble.
Odell is preceded in death by his baby brother, Tycoon V Graves. His paternal grandparents, Walter L. Graves and Cecil B. Graves. His paternal uncles, Albert "Butch" Graves, Larry D. Blackwell and Timothy N. Graves. His maternal grandfather, Amos D. Williams.
Odell leaves to cherish his memories, his loving parents, Odell A Graves Sr of California and Evelyn J. Graves of California. His sisters, Evelyn A. Bland (Lee) of North Carolina, Jacquetta Graves of North Carolina, Jahname J. Dugan (Kyle) of California, and Odeve Graves of California. His maternal grandmother, Nellie G Davis Williams of North Carolina. His paternal aunt, Barbara G. Lennon (Israel) of Reidsville, NC. His paternal uncles, Howard L. Graves (Hester) of Raeford, NC and Walter J. Graves of Greensboro, NC. His maternal aunts, Dorothy M Owens (Mack) of Virginia and Patricia F. Carr of Virginia. His maternal uncles, Amos E Williams of Virginia, Michael J. Williams (Magnolia) of South Carolina, and Gregory A. Williams of North Carolina. Odell was a loving uncle of 3 nephews and 5 nieces. His special aunt/uncle, Brenda Bland (Ivria) and a host of other family and friends.
