Mother Nettie Mae Napper Galloway, 96, was a Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Friend.  This Sainted Mother, was a native of Reidsville, North Carolina.  She was born on December 31, 1924 to the late Mr. James Napper and Mrs. Beatrice Neal Napper.  Nettie peacefully departed this life to go get her heavenly reward on Monday, January 4, 2021 at Annie Penn Hospital in Reidsville, NC.  She is and will be greatly missed.

Nettie was educated in the Rockingham County School System and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School.  Mrs. Galloway was married to the love of her life, Mr. Samuel Galloway on January 24, 1945.  He preceded her in death on September 18, 1996 after the Lord blessed them to be married for fifty-one years.  To this union seven children were born of which four preceded her in death: Samuel E. Galloway, Donnie Galloway, Diane G. Turner and Michael Galloway.

Mother Galloway stayed home with her children while they were young and later decided to go to work when they were of age.  She was employed with Zarn Mills in Reidsville, NC and with Rockingham Community College in Wentworth, NC until her retirement.  She was a woman with many talents: a home maker, excellent cook and baker, a farmer (she loved her garden and flowers) and a seamstress.  Her home was a community. She treated everyone the same and fed all that came by.

At an early age, Mother Galloway gave her life to the Lord.  She attended the Jones Chapel Baptist Church.  When her Aunt Lillie Mariah Napper founded the St. Mariah United Holy Church, she became a founding member.  Mother Galloway loved her church.  She lived to witness the various pastors, and multiple edifices St. Mariah has built.  She was a great supporter and faithful member at St. Mariah.  She served the church in many capacities.  She was the first Pianist, Choir Member, Usher Board Member, Kitchen Committee Member, Missionary Member, Financial Secretary, Official Board Member and lastly member of the Mother's Board.

She was also preceded in death by her brother, Theodore Napper; and her sister, Bell Morehead.

Her legacy will continue to live on through her family who cherishes her memories: two daughters, Brenda Fountain (Monroe) and Vickie Galloway; one son, Carl Galloway and special friend Mary Moore; three grandsons, Jeff Fountain (Rachel); Barry Turner (Carla) and Chad Galloway; two granddaughters, Latelia S. Fountain and Kimberly Fountain-Pickard; great-grands; great-great grands; the St. Mariah family and a host of other family members and friends.

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:  Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.  2 Timothy 4:7-10
