Obituary

On Saturday morning, November 1, 2014, God saw fit to call his child , Nathaniel Herbin home. Born on May 29, 1927 in Rockingham County, he was the son of the late Henry and Toya McTeer Herbin.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, November 6, 2014 at Elm Grove Baptist Church with a visitation 1:30-2:00 P.M. prior to the service. Dr. Clarence Johnson, Pastor will bring the eulogy and burial will follow in the Elm Grove Church Cemetery.

"Nathan" as he was affectionately called by family and friends, joined Elm Grove Baptist Church at an early age. He was a faithful member of the Male Chorus and the Sunday School Department. He attended Rockingham County public schools. Nathan worked many years for the West Construction Company before retiring.

Nathan was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was kind and helpful, touching many lives with his cheerful spirit.

He was preceded in death by his son Julius Herbin, his daughter Mary Elaine Cummings, his sisters Colleen Rudd, Mary Scales Josephine Herbin and brothers William Herbin, Leroy Herbin, Jessie Herbin, and Herbert Herbin.

Nathan leaves to cherish his memories: his devoted wife Emma Beatrice Herbin of the home, six daughters: Natalean Herbin Vaughan (Clyde) of Greensboro, N.C., Mona L. Blackwell (Clayton) of Reidsville, N.C., Donna Neal (Glenn) of Reidsville, N.C., Gail Wilson Sutton of Reidsville, N.C., Debra Yvonne Wilson of Greensboro, N.C., and Minister Doris Wilson (Hank Royster) of Greensboro, N.C.; three sons: Walter Timothy Wilson of Greensboro, N.C., Karl Edward Wilson (Diane) of Reidsville, N.C. and James Wilson of Greensboro, N.C.; sister, Virginia Wray of Greensboro, N.C.; thirty-five grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
