REIDSVILLE - Miss. Nakia Keiodo Hancock, affectionately called "Kia", age 41, made peaceful transition in external life on Thursday, July 18, 2024 at Transitions LifeCare in Raleigh, NC.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at 1 p.m.; visitation 12:30 p.m. at McLaurin-Harris Memorial Chapel, 721 East Morehead Street, Reidsville, NC. Pastor, Dr. Kenneth N. Moore will deliver the words of comfort.

Public viewing Tuesday beginning at 9 a.m.

Interment will follow in Greenview Cemetery, Reidsville, NC.

Kia was born in Nyack, NY to Joyce R. Fitzgerald and George T. Hancock.

She attended the local public schools and during her leisure time. She dedicated her life caring for others, cooking, socializing, and spending time with friends and family.

Kia is survived by her parents, Joyce Fitzgerald and George Hancock; children, Kiana Tatum, Tiana Tatum, Dajour Tatum and Timothy Thaxton; sisters, Valencia Hancock, Takara Hancock and Tari Galloway; brothers, Taruge Hancock and Tai Fitzgerald; grandchildren, Robert Wright, III, Kateleya Tatum and Dajour Tatum, Jr.; nieces, Chyna Galloway, Trinity Galloway, Frankie Galloway, Camryn Galloway, Nia Outerbridge and Abella Fitzgerald; her nephews, Ron Rico Bailey, III, Amari Fitzgerald and Avion Fitzgerald; uncle/god-father, Freddie Fitzgerald; aunt, Carolyn Daniel; god-mother, Renee Crumps; special friends, Travis Price, Chelle Hooper and Angela Galloway.
