Obituary

On Monday evening, April 15, 2019, Minister Ruby W. Taylor passed at Curis of Reidsville, NC.  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at 11:30 a.m. at Jerusalem United Holy Church at 632 Prince-Williams Street with family visitation one half hour prior to the service.

Ruby Wilson Taylor was born on March 29, 1931 in Reidsville, North Carolina to the late Addie Slade Wilson and Zeek Wilson and was educated in the Rockingham County Public School System.

Uniting with Jerusalem United Holy Church at an early age, Minister Taylor was a faithful and loyal member for many years, and was active and committed to many of the church's ministries including:  Wednesday Morning Bible Study, Thursday Prayer Meeting, the Missionary Circle and the A.W. Lawson Chancel Choir.  She also served as Chairperson of the Deaconess Board and dearly loved her pastor and her church family, rarely missing a service.  Her favorite scripture was the "23 rd Psalm."

She was employed at Chase Bag Company, retiring after more than 25 years, and also worked in the Jerusalem Daycare for many years.

Minister Taylor is predeceased by her parents; her son, Marcus; as well as all of her sisters and one brother.

Those left to cherish precious and loving memories are:  sons – James B. Taylor (Hazel), of Reidsville, NC, Lawrence E. Taylor, of New Jersey, and Percy D. Taylor, of Greensboro, NC;  grandchildren – Karen Taylor, Michael Taylor, Sonja Taylor, Tosha Taylor and Latoya Taylor; great-grandchildren – Tiara, Farren, Adrian, Bryce and Cadence; one brother-in-law – Floyd "Bean" Slade, of Reidsville, NC; and a host of other relatives and friends.
