On December 27, 1967, she was united in holy matrimony with the love of her life, Pastor Joseph F. Harrison. Their union of 53 years was blessed with 13 children, 53 grandchildren, and 50 great-grandchildren.
In early 1976, Colleen gave her life to Christ and was filled with the Holy Ghost in the comfort of her own home. On September 19, 1976, she became a faithful and active member of Benaja Pentecostal Holiness Church in Reidsville, NC. On September 22, 1984, she embraced the role of First Lady when her husband was ordained as Pastor of Crossroad Rescue Mission of God in Plymouth, NC, under the leadership of Bishop Bond. On November 8, 1998, she delivered her initial sermon and received her associate minister license under the leadership of her husband, Elder Joseph F. Harrison. Her message came from John 14:1— "Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me". Colleen was also a member of Sharon Missionary Baptist Church in Stoneville, NC, under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Kenneth Moore.
Passionate about nurturing young children, Colleen became a foster parent and opened a home daycare in 1999. She owned and operated her daycare with love and dedication for over 20 years. In June 2007, she earned a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and later completed both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Early Childhood Education with honors from Ashford University.
