Mrs. Mildred Gertrude Cobb died on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 in Reidsville, NC.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Rocky Ridge Baptist Church with a visitation 1:30-2:00 P.M. Burial will take place in the Rocky Ridge Church Cemetery.
Mildred Gertrude Baize Cobb, daughter of the late Ernest Baize and Mildred Blackstock Baize, was born July 16, 1937 in Ruffin, North Carolina.
Mildred attended the Rockingham County Public Schools and was a 1956 graduate of the former Booker T. Washington High School in Reidsville. At an early age, she confessed Christ as her Savior, and became a faithful member of Bluestone Baptist Church. In subsequent years, she united with Rocky Ridge Missionary Baptist Church where she served diligently in various positions.
Mildred was joined in Holy Matrimony with the late Howard L. Cobb Sr. on April 19, 1958. This loving couple was blessed with children to complete the family circle according to God's plan. Mildred was a loving wife and a wonderful mother that believed in caring for her family and others. She always had an encouraging word, she was a true believer in John 8:32 "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." For many years, she enjoyed her work as a self-employed caterer.
She died Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at her residence. She was a beacon of light and had a sweet, sweet spirit. She is resting with the Lord.
She leaves to cherish wonderful memories: two sons, Howard L. Cobb Jr. (Cecilia) of Greensboro, and Keith Cobb of Eden; two daughters, Sandra C. Parker of Greensboro, and Sylvia C. Key (Charles) of Reidsville; brothers, Otis Baize of New York, William C. Baize (Sue) of Newport News, VA, Rev. Burnell I. Baize (Miranda) of Blairs, VA; sisters, Annie M. Moore (Morris) of Danville, VA, Minnie Baize of Winston Salem, NC, Marjorie Hampton of Eden; six grandchildren, Bryant, Cameron, Bianca, Justin, Rayshawn, and Alondra; a host of nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
