Michael L. Dickerson

REIDSVILLE, NC - Mr. Michael Lawrence Dickerson, age 37, passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2026 at Moses Cone Hospital.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 from the McLaurin-Harris Memorial Chapel, 721 East Morehead Street, Reidsville, NC. The viewing and family visitation will begin at 1:30, followed by the service at 2 p.m. Overseer B. Stephon Brown will serve as eulogist. 

All other times, the family will receive friends at the home of his mother (Barbara Dickerson) - 814 Lawndale Drive Apt 2, Reidsville, NC.

Michael Lawrence Dickerson was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at the age of 37. He was born in Stuttgart, Germany, on June 16, 1989, to Gerald L. Dickerson and Barbara M. Dickerson.

Michael graduated from Morehead High School in Eden NC in 2007. He played football in Baumholder, Germany and at Morehead High School Eden, NC. Later in life, he enjoyed breakdancing and traveling to compete. He attended Rockingham Community College, where he earned an associate degree. Michael worked for Wal-Mart, Pepsi, and Old Dominion Freight Line.

Michael was known for his service throughout the community, kind heart, and generous spirit, which touched the lives of many. He attended Noah’s Ark Full Gospel Baptist Church. Michael was thankful to God for His mercy, goodness, and blessings.

Michael was married to Jalissa (McCain) Dickerson, and their union was blessed with one child, Jeremiah Lawrence Dickerson. He was an excellent father who was dedicated to teaching his son valuable life lessons and Godly principles. Michael went above and beyond to help not only his family but also his friends. He loved the simplicity of life and never made things complicated.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ed and Irene Dickerson and Elfred Lawrence Williams.

Michael leaves to cherish his precious memories his wife, Jalissa Eurika Dickerson; his son, Jeremiah Lawrence Dickerson; his parents, Barbara M. Dickerson and Gerald L. Dickerson (Heidi-Harms Dickerson); his grandmother, Carolyn Williams McNebb; his brother, Gerald L. Dickerson Jr. (Tyra Jones Dickerson) of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; and his sister, Kimberlee Barquist (Bo John Barquist) of Jacksonville, Florida. He also leaves a host of nephews: Elijah Coleman Dickerson, Ezekiel James Dickerson, Nolan John Barquist, Gavin Lee Barquist and Choen Seth Barquist. Aunts, uncles, cousins, family members, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
