Melvin Lee Graves passed on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be Monday, May 8, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity Holy Tabernacle Church. Visitation will be one half hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Greenview Cemetery. Public viewing will be Sunday, 1: 30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Melvin Lee Graves, known as BO; the son of the late James Edward Graves, Step-father, Lola Mae Cunningham Graves mother, and father, James Edward Brown. Melvin was born on July 3, 1957 in Reidsville, NC. He attended Reidsville Senior High School.
Melvin accepted Christ in his early years and was baptized at a very young age. He joined True Light Holiness Church of God . He loved to sing and enjoyed service.
Melvin had his own Lawncare business and was an all-around handyman who would often help others. His dedication to working hard had him working from sun up to sun down. If elderly people needed any assistance he was always there. Melvin was also there for homeless people and anyone that needed a helping hand. He would give his last.
Proceeded in death: His parents James Edward Brown, Lola Mae Cunningham Graves and Step-father James Edward Graves, his brothers and sisters Maddie Loren Graves, Henry Graves, Addie Mae Graves, and Baby Girl Graves. He leaves to cherish his precious memories his Step-mother Willette Bettie Brown; his daughter Faith Lee Ann Graves, Ke' Rhonda Glenn (Miss Ann Denise Glenn) his God Father Robert Obey; Sisters and Brothers Erva Lee Graves Pass (Proceeding in death George Pass), Roberta Graves Nunley of Reidsville; Samuel D. Graves of Winston Salem; Donnell Graves of Reidsville; Debra Ann Graves Broadnax of Reidsville; Melissa Graves Galloway (Larry Galloway) of Reidsville; Jeffery Leroy Graves of Winston Salem, NC; Carolyn Graves, Reidsville, NC. He also leaves behind his closest friends Donna Simpson, Dr. Fergerson and Dee Fulton. Host of, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
His legacy of life will continue through his family and his extended family and friends.
