Obituary

On October 5, 2012, the Lord called his daughter Melissa Ann Lynn, affectionately known by family and friends as "Missy" home after courageously fighting a long illness.

Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, October 13, 2012 at West End Baptist Church. There will be a visitation 12:30-1:00 P.M. prior to the service. Burial will follow in Greenview Cemetery.

Missy was born on April 6, 1966 to Joe Lynn and Sarah Lee Lynn. She grew up and attended shools in the Reidville community, where she later graduated as a State Champion Varsity athlete at Reidsville Senior High School. Before becoming disabled, she was an employee of Elm Villa Assist Living facility.

At an early age Missy attended West End Baptist Church. She maintained her belief in Christ. She cherished a prayer book given to her, by her brother Joseph Lynn and carried it everywhere faithfully.

Missy was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, great aunt and devoted friend to many. From a young girl Missy naturally had an athletic talent, and enjoyed playing volleyball and softball. She had a competitive spirit, that allowed her to become a champion Varsity softball and volleyball player for the Reidsville Rams, and would later transcended to wage a valiant battle against her illness. Dispite any challenged presented, Missy maintained a quiet dignity and smile thoughout, she always responded, she was good.

In her leisure time, she loved spending time with her family, especially being entertained by her great nieces Shaniya, Shakiya and Zanariah. Missy also enjoyed music and cheering for her favorite college team, the "Tarheels". Fridays was Missy's favorite day of the week. She looked forward to eating and spending this day with family memebers. Everyone was required to say one good thing about the week.

Missy was preceded in death by paternal grandparents; Sam and Mary Lynn, maternal grandparents; Browning Pickard and Margaret Lee, paternal uncles; Willie Pink Lynn, Henry Lynn, Helton "Pete" Lynn, aunt; Idell McClurkin, maternal uncle; Walter King.
