Mary M. Williamson, a beloved figure in her community, was born on February 2, 1932, to the late Major and Lillie Maynard in the quaint town of Reidsville, North Carolina.
Growing up in the vibrant town of Reidsville, Mary demonstrated her determination and passion for learning, culminating in her graduation from Booker T. Washington High School. During this formative period, she met George Elwood Williamson, the man who would become the love of her life. Together, they embarked on a remarkable journey filled with love and partnership, welcoming six wonderful children into their lives. To Mary, these children were not just her offspring; they were her greatest treasures, each one held close to her heart.
An exceptional cook, Mary had a particular talent for baking that delighted everyone around her.
As a devoted missionary, Mary felt a profound calling to share her faith. She saw it as her mission to guide others in accepting Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. To that end, she opened her home weekly to host a Bible study, inviting neighbors and community members to join in heartfelt discussions and spiritual nourishment. Her kindness, wisdom, and love for God inspired many, leaving a legacy in the hearts of all who knew her.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, two sons, Rodney and Stanley Williamson, Sisters, Leona Hall, Octavia Harden, and Ruth Blackwell, and Brothers James, Floyd, Major Jr., and David Maynard.
Mary leaves to cherish the loving memories of her four sons, Elwood (Wanda), Errol (Denise), Walter (Sabrina), and Timothy Williamson (Denise). Brother-in-law, Glidewell Brown; Sister-in-law, Pattie Maynard. She also has eleven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
