Mary Evelyn "Sister" Williams was born on December 3, 1925 to the late Rev. Raleigh Fred Williams and Julia Ann Jones in Reidsville, NC.

Early in life, "Sister" joined the Bold Springs Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Sam L Badgett.  As a child, Sister developed an illness that limited her activity on the left side of her body.  Her physical appearance never stopped her from being the best baker, cook and caregiver to many.  Sister wore an array of hats and wore them proudly with stylish clothing and jewelry to match.

In addition to her parents, her brother, Wilbert Williams and sister, Annie Pauline Dillard preceeds her in death.

She leaves to cherish precious memories:  sister, Mozelle Williams Darby, of the home; nieces, Odessa Oglesby (Roosevelt), Maxine Burns (Lawrence), Vivian Blackstock (Tommy), Carolyn Darby and Marie Watts; nephews, Fred Darby (Gloria), Robert Earl Williams, and Raleigh Williams; great and great-great nieces and nephews; godchildren, Alan Perkins and Madonna "Teenie" Pemberton; and a host of other relatives and dear friends.

The family of the late Mary Evelyn Sister" Williams would like to thank everyone for your love, support and prayers during this difficult time.  A special thank you to Renee King for your support through these last few years.  Thank you to the medical team at Moses Cone Hospital and Beacon Place Hospice Care Greensboro.
