Mrs. Mary Ann Motley-McCain entered eternal rest on Sunday, July 25, 2021 at Atrium Health University Hospital in Charlotte, NC. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at 12 noon at McLaurin Memorial Chapel, 721 E. Morehead Street, Reidsville, NC with burial in Greenview Cemetery. Family visitation will be held 30 minutes prior to the service. Public visitation will be held on Friday, July 30, 2021 from 2:00 until 7:00 p.m.
Mary Ann was born on May 13, 1937 to the late Walter and Margaret Motley in Reidsville, North Carolina. She was baptized at an early age and most recently was a member of Jerusalem United Holy Church, where she served faithfully until her health declined. She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School and later matriculated at Rockingham Community College earning an Associates Degree in Nursing.
After retiring from Richard's Meats, she spent much of her free time with her pet dog, Angel and working in her yard. She also enjoyed decorating and crafting.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Miriam Motley Cook.
Those left to cherish precious memories are: daughters, Marian Denease Harden, Mary Donnetta Walker, Cheryl Renee Walker Galloway (James) and Shelley Walker Brim (George); grandchildren – Leon Jermaine Walker (Shontina), Katrina Renee Harrison, Krystal Galloway (Vernon Mills), Dilisa Marie Walker and James Galloway, Jr.; great-grandchildren – Jermaine Walker, Jamari Walker, Janya Walker, Kamya Mills, Kennedie Mills and Sarai Walker; sisters – LeMoore Beveridge, Margaret Graves (Donald) and Rebecca Alexander (Joseph); nieces; nephews; and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
Ashton and Yolanda McLaurin and the staff of the McLaurin Funeral Home are serving the family. Covid-19 precautions will be followed with social distancing, masks and sanitizing required.
