Mrs. Mary Alice Gore, age 87, formerly of Reidsville, NC transitioned this life after a long illness on Monday, April 22, 2024 at Chesapeake Health & Rehabilitation Center in Chesapeake, VA.
Public viewing will begin on Friday, May 3, 2024 from 12 until 8 p.m. at McLaurin-Harris Funeral Home, 721 East Morehead Street, Reidsville, NC.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 3:30 p.m. at Elm Grove Baptist Church, 1302 US-29 Business, Reidsville, NC. The family visitation will begin at 3 p.m. Pastor C. Bradley Hunt, II will preside and Minister Ashley Brown from LifeNation will deliver the words of comfort.
Interment will follow in Elm Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Reidsville, NC.

Mary Alice Gore was born in Nichols, NC on May 25, 1936, to the late Rosa Lee and John Wesley Rouse.
On June 19, 1952, Mary Alice married the love of her life, Gary Gore, Sr. in Marion, North Carolina. They were married for over 33 years. To this union, God blessed them with seven wonderful children.
Mary Alice attended Finklea High School in Finklea, SC. She worked at Chase Bag Company as a Sewing Machine Operator and Union Representative. She later worked at Fieldcrest Mills where she retired in 1998.
At a young age, Mary Alice accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior was a faithful member of the Silent Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Finklea, SC. Upon the family moving to Reidsville, NC, she became a faithful member of the Elm Grove Missionary Baptist under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Cardes H. Brown, Jr., Rev. Dr. Clarence Johnson and now under Pastor C. Bradley Hunt, II. She served as a President of the Senior Choir and Pastor's Aid, and member of the Mass Choir, Missionary Board, Music Board and Sunday School Teacher. In 1977, she was one of the first Den Leaders for the Boy Scouts Pack 999 where she served for many years.
Mary Alice was preceded in death by her parents Rosa Lee Rouse and John Wesley Rouse; her husband, Gary Gore Sr.; her son, Gary Gore, Jr.; her grandson Seneca Gore; her brother, Robert Rouse; sons-in-law, Michael Davis and Charles Wilson; daughter-in-law, Patricia Gore; godson, Carl Thomas, Sr.
Left to mourn her loss are: her children, Minister Gladys Withers, Cheryl Davis, Terry Gore, Anthony Gore, Debra Gore-Wilson and Stanley Gore; 15 Grandchildren, and 12 Great Grandchildren; her sisters, Johnnie Mae German and Betty Rouse and her brother, Emory Rouse (Diane), sisters-in-law Diane Moyer, Emma Gerald-McSwain, Mrs. Brenda Seymore (Roommate), and Karen Gladney Gore; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
