Fort Washington, MD - Mrs. Marie Ann Tate Roberts, age 83, passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2025.

A celebration of Love and Life will be held Friday, May 9, 2025 at 12 p.m. from the Fort Washington Baptist Church, 11516 Fort Washington Road, Fort Washington, MD. The viewing will begin at 10 a.m.

Interment will take place on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD.

"Taterbug" or "Rean" as she was affectionately called was born in Rockingham County, NC on September 25, 1941 to the late Grady Paul Tate and Annie Mae Crawford Tate.

She was educated in the local public schools and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School, class of 1959.

She was a member of Zion Baptist Church in Reidsville before relocating and joining Fort Washington Baptist Church in Maryland.

For many years, she was employed as an office manager in the Department of Medicine at Howard University.

Survivors include daughter, Sonya-Renee Roberts Severance (Bradford); 1 granddaughter, Sanaiyah Severance; a host of relatives and friends.
