Mrs. Marie Moore Epps was born in Rockingham County, North Carolina. She passed away to her eternal rest on Friday, February 20, 2015.

Due to inclement weather, Funeral services has been rescheduled from Thursday, for 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, Reidsville, NC, with a visitation 1:30-2:00 P.M. prior to the service. Rev. Dr. Dale P. Sneed will bring the eulogy and Rev. Paul Milton will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Marie was the daughter of the late Charles W. Moore and Frances Garrett Moore. She attended the public schools of Rockingham County and graduated from the Booker T. Washington High School. She furthered her education by attending Winston Salem State University, Winston Salem, N.C.

Marie joined Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. During her Christian journey at Shiloh, she was a lead singer and one of the original founders of the Gospel Choir.

After college she moved to the Bronx, New York where she lived for over 40 years. Upon her retirement she moved back to Reidsville, N.C. and joined the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church where she held potions as a Communion Stewart, member of the United Methodist Women, member of the Lay Leadership Committee and a member of the PPRC Committee.

She is survived by three brothers; Charles Moore, Samuel Moore (Brenda), Reidsville, N.C., and Bruce Ronald Moore, New Jersey, two sisters; Richetta Armstrong and Ruth Davis (Roy), Reidsville, N.C., one step-daughter; Patricia Powell, Bronx, N. Y., a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
