Obituary

Mrs. Maggie Lorene Moyer Griffin, daughter of the late Robert Pleasant Moyer and Irene Helen Ruby Baize Moyer, was born on March 25, 1943 in Eden, North Carolina.  She departed this life on June 19, 2021 at Wake Med Hospital in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, June 24, 2021 at Spring Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Ruffin, NC.  There will be a public viewing on Wednesday from 1:00 - 7:00 PM at McLaurin Funeral Home.

Maggie was united in Holy Matrimony with Ben Griffin on February 4,1967 in Danville, Virginia.  This union was blessed with five children to complete a loving family according to God's plan.

She was a member of Bold Spring Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Samuel Scales Jr. She loved her church and was a faithful member, until her health started to decline.

She worked at IEM Plastics in Reidsville, NC.  She was a very friendly, sweet, and lovable person, who enjoyed collecting dolls, collectables, puzzles, shopping, going to the flea markets, sewing, and "hupin" (hupin is going out shopping and having fun). We loved her dearly and shall always cherish her memory.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by:  her loving husband, Ben Griffin; her sister, Vinnie "Nellie" Pinnix; and her brothers, Eugene Moyer, Joe Moyer, and Spencer Ray Moyer.

She is survived by:  her children, Jeffery Lemarc Griffin, Timothy Dewayne Griffin, Treva Griffin Aiken, Ben Jermaine Griffin, and Latoya Lynette Griffin; her brothers, George Curtis Moyer and Robert Lee Moyer; her sister, Annie Frances Nunley; her sister-in-law, Sallie Moyer; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; special friends Beulah Galloway, Shirley Miller, and Audrey Byrd; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.

She will be missed by all with her laughter, her love, charm, and her wonderful wit.  She never met a stranger and filled every room with her beautiful aura.  God blessed us with a wonderful mother that loved us unconditionally but took her home because he needed her more.  We will love you forever and always.

Ashton and Yolanda McLaurin and the staff of the McLaurin Funeral Home are serving the family. Covid-19 precautions will be followed with social distancing, masks and sanitizing required.
