GIBSONVILLE, NC - Mrs. Loretta Geneva Jones Weatherford, age 78, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2026 at Cypress Valley Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation.

A viewing will begin on Saturday, May 2, 2026 from 12 until 7 p.m. at McLaurin-Harris Funeral Home, 721 East Morehead Street, Reidsville, NC.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 3, 2026 from the Brown's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 461 Brown's Chapel Road, Gibsonville, NC. Visitation with the family will begin at 1:30 p.m., followed by the service at 2 p.m. Dr. Frankie T. Jones, Sr., will preside and Reverend Tommy Williamson, eulogist.

The committal and interment will follow in the Brown's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Gibsonville, NC.

All other times, the family will receive friends at the home, 548 Brown Road, Gibsonville, NC.

Mrs. Loretta Geneva Weatherford was born July 7, 1947 in Rockingham County and departed this life on April 25, 2026. She was the daughter of the late James Pinnix and Mammie Jones Farrish (Elbert).

She attended Roosevelt School and was a 33 year employee of Elon University where she retired March of 2023.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Junior Weatherford; son, Donnell Walter Weatherford.

She leaved behind her son, Jeffrey Weatherford (Crystal); her granddaughters, Atiya Cummings and Kianna Cummings; her siblings, Delois Jones, Marie Myrick (Johnnie), Linda Reid, Bethel Ann Farrish, Elbert Boyd Farrish and Roselyn McCain (Tyrone); special niece, Annie Wellman; godchildren, Susan McCain (Tim), Paula Cummings and Patricia German; god-granddaughter, Satorria Tribble (Aaron); a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
