Lorenzo "Doll Baby" Stokes, Sr.

EDEN, NC - Mr. Lorenzo Edward Stokes, Sr., age 80, passed away Sunday, September 13, 2026 at his residence.

A viewing will begin on Friday, September 18, 2026 from 12 until 6 p.m. at McLaurin-Harris Funeral Home, 721 East Morehead Street, Reidsville, NC.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 19, 2026 from the McLaurin-Harris Memorial Chapel, 721 East Morehead Street, Reidsville, NC. Visitation with the family will begin at 1:30 p.m., followed by the service at 2 p.m. Reverend John B. Doe will serve as eulogist.

All other times, the family will receive friends at the home - 513 College Street, Eden, NC.

Lorenzo was known to many people as "Doll Baby". He was a native of Rockingham County and was born to the late Sam Stokes and Lou Hester Pass Stokes.

He was educated in the local public schools and attended Booker T. Washington High School.

He was a member of Bluestone Baptist Church and he was employed at Fieldcrest Mills for many years and then employed at Pluma’s Inc and later he retired from National Textiles.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son Shawn Stokes, one sister, Patricia P. Strange and one grandson, Brian Smith Jr.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories are 3 daughters: Cynthia Robinson of White Plains, Maryland, Angie Henderson (Ellis) of Ruffin NC and Carla Courts of Greensboro NC; 2 sons: Eddie Stokes (Yolanda) and Jamie Stokes both of Reidsville NC; 9 grandchildren: Mariah Stokes, Bryson Stokes, Mikayla Stokes, Caylyn Stokes Brielle Stokes, Jacob Stokes, Carleigh Stokes, Rasun Fallen and La’Niya Stokes; 3 great-grandchildren: Cydney Robinson, Makonnen White and Merci Johnson; 1 niece that he reared, Cassandra Hampton of Pelham NC; one nephew that he reared, Harry Abbott of Danville VA; A very special long long companion that he has been with for many years, Dorothy Valentine of the residence; 2 bonus daughters: Latoya Valentine and LeKeisha Breedlove both of Eden NC; a host of other special relatives and friends.
