Obituary

Almighty God, the Author and Finisher of the Book of Life, began this chapter entitled Lillie Graham Doe 91, was born on June 9, 1926 in Danville, Virginia to the late Cora Wooding and Andrew Graham. She entered into eternal rest on Sunday, May 27, 2018 at her residence, Pelham, NC.

Lillie Doe was the devoted wife of the late Robert Lee Doe Sr. for over 40 years. Robert spotted her on the back of a pick-up truck one day, and he knew that she was going to be his wife. During their union, they had seven children.

Lillie was baptized at an early age. When she was united in marriage with Robert, she joined the Gwynn's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church and attended faithfully until her death. She was the Mother of the Church and served with "Joy." Lillie was also a deaconess, a former member of the senior choir, Missionary Circle, Sunday School, and a member of Naomi Chapter 613 of the Easter Star. Her favorite passion at an early age was singing in the Ever Ready Trio and praising God with her favorite songs: This Little Light of Mine, Another Day's Journey, and Jesus Is on the Main Line.

Lillie did seasonal work at Dibrell Tobacco Factory in order to nurture and take care of her young children. Later she became a custodian in Dan River Mills until she retired. Her next endeavor was cooking the best fried chicken in town, mouthwatering sweet potato, and coconut pies on Sundays. If you happen to drop by, Lillie and Robert would welcome you to fellowship with them.

Lillie Doe lived a good life and was a sweet mother and grandmother, but now, she has gone to be with her Heavenly Father who loved her best. She fought a good fight and has finished the race. One day we will meet her again, face to face, and express no more good byes, but forever rejoice in the presence of the Lord.

Her husband Robert Lee Doe Sr, her daughter Georgia Doe Watson, and her granddaughter, Shantay Woodard, preceded her in death.

Cherishing the memories of her life are: Robert Lee Doe Jr., Danville, Virginia, daughters: Minister Lorraine Doe Patterson (James) both of Hickory, NC, Mrs. Shirley Doe Simms and Betty Doe Woodard (Teddy) of Greensboro, NC; Miss Alice Doe of the home, and Mrs. Christine Doe Brown (Jerald) of Pelham, NC: Brother-in-laws Rev John B.
