Obituary

Mr. Levant Dewey Hairston passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2018 at Hospice of Rockingham County.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, Cascade, Virginia
Visitation will be one half hour prior to the service.
Burial will follow at Piney Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Danville, Virginia.
Public viewing will be Tuesday, 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m..
He is survived by his loving and patient wife Lucy Hairston of the home; two daughters LaVae Hairston of Eden, NC; Levette (Cornell) Chasten and their daughter Ava of Silver Spring, MD; two step-sons Stanley (Brenda) Haley of Macon, GA and Kendall (Katrina) Haley of Rural Hall, NC; Six remaining siblings who hope to see him again one day are: four sisters: Bernice Jackson of Reidsville, NC, Mabone Jackson, Arnettie Hairston both of Eden, NC and Betty (Phillip) Adams of Danville, VA. One sister-in-law Marian Adams of Pelham, NC; Two brothers: Donald Hairston and Kern Hairston of Raleigh, NC. Three brothers-in-law: Spencer (Gloria) Totten of Jessup, MD, Wayne (Donna) Totten and Witcher (Geneva) Totten all of Pelham, NC; One niece: Vickie (Stuart) Lovelace of Danville, VA and their children Trenton, Trevor and Makenzie; and three nephews: Brian Hairston of Pelham, NC; Jeffrey (Letta) Jackson of Romulus, MI and their children James, Tamia, and Larry; and Stanton (Tamika Shirley) Adams of Chesapeake, VA and their children Aaron, Alfred and Kaden; in addition to his parents Wesley and Nannie Hairston, three brothers Gordon Daniel Hairston and Ronald Keith Hairston, Loyd Edward Hairston and one sister Eartha Faye Hairston and one niece Veleatta Adams and two nephews James Pass and Bennie Jackson; one brother-in-law Rev. Clarence Jackson all predeceased him and greet him now in the life hereafter. A plethora of other family, friends and relations remain as part of his legacy.
